Product introduction
The assay product we provided is based on the application of a new nucleic acid amplification technique - Loop-mediated Isothermal Amplification (LAMP) - for the rapid detection of the White Spot Syndrome Virus (WSSV) in white shrimp. This technique not only maintains the accuracy of nucleic acid detection but also allows for simple on-site operation due to its only single-temperature needed reaction characteristic. The kit main application is to reduce and prevent the farming losses caused by WSSV infection in white shrimp and enable early on-site monitoring and preventive measures against disease outbreaks.Shrimp is one of the most important aquatic products globally with the largest international trade volume and the second-highest trade value that second only to salmon and trout. In recent years, accounts for 80% of global shrimp production is white shrimp. The key advantages of white shrimp are its strong disease resistance characters and the ability to grow in low-salinity environments which can significantly reduce production costs and disease infection risks. Thus many countries have opened up the import of white shrimp seedlings and enabled large-scale farming for increase economic scales, leading to an annual production growth of about 250,000 tons since year 2000. Therefore, high-quality seedlings and a stable supply source are of utmost importance for the shrimp farming industry and cannot be overlooked.
The elements for the sustainable development of the aquaculture industry include effective disease prevention, a stable and good source of seedlings, appropriate usage of feed formulas, and safe aquaculture farming management strategies. Among these factors, that is why biological safety management is a critical issues needed to be focus. As without proper disease prevention controlled, all the efforts in farming would be in vain finally.
The industrialization of aquaculture can be divided into five major stages: seedling cultivation centers, commercial shrimp breeding centers management, shrimp fry production enterprises, shrimp grow-out farms, and item products processing and distribution. In other words, whether the shrimp fry can grow in a healthy environment is a very important crucial factor.
